Agenda for Change (AFC) Services

Job Matching

The vast majority of posts can now be matched against one of the wide range of AFC profiles available. All matching is undertaken using a combination of AFC trained management and staff side representatives from both clinical and non-clinical backgrounds.

The service includes:

  • Matching undertaken by three panelists, comprising fully trained staff side and management representatives on all panels
  • Ongoing liaison with HR and directly with Managers where necessary
  • We will use our own computerised system which matches posts against the agreed National profiles, or any local system used by the organisation.
  • Working with organisations to fit in with local systems and processes, we would also highlight any concerns with what is being requested, make comments on outcomes where necessary and draw any issues to the attention of the HR Team. A full record of all posts matched can be made available on an ongoing basis.

Job Evaluation

Where a match to a national profile is not possible JME Partners can undertake full Job Evaluation or a Hybrid match including gathering information from current post holders through a JAQ if necessary.

Consistency Checking

JME Partners are able to undertake independent and objective consistency checking on internally matched posts. Consistency checking is normally undertaken by a panel of two, one management side and one staff side. In addition to reviewing internal levelling, we are able to check your posts against our database of over 5,000 posts from across the NHS

Appeals

JME Partners can provide an unbiased and independent review of posts, where an internal appeal has been raised regarding banding or equal pay.

AfC Training

Where you do want to retain expertise in house for matching or consistency checking we can put you in contact with accredited trainers from our network of panelists.
